AI responses

This guide explains how AI responses work in IntelliMate, including source references, excerpts, and response actions such as copying response, code, diagrams, and sharing feedback.

1. Start a chat and get an AI response

In the right panel, Chat History shows your conversations. Click New Chat to begin a new conversation.

You can start chatting right away in the chat box labeled Ask your question here..., or select one or more files from Knowledge Base if you want IntelliMate to use them as source context for the current chat.

  • Press Enter to send your message.
  • Press Shift + Enter to add a new line without sending.

After you send your question, IntelliMate will generate an AI response in the chat window.

2. View source references

When IntelliMate uses source files in a chat, source references may appear inside the AI response, such as [1], [2], or [3].

Source references may also appear below the AI response as a row of source references for quick access.

These references help you see which parts of your files were used to support the response.

3. Open related excerpts

Click a source reference either inside the AI response or below the response to open the related excerpt.

This helps you review the supporting text and confirm how IntelliMate used your files to generate the answer.

When you are done, click Close (X) to return to the main window.

4. Copy response, code, or diagrams

IntelliMate lets you copy different parts of an AI response, depending on what is shown in the message.

Click Copy response below the AI response if you want to copy the response for use elsewhere.

For convenience, source references such as [1], [2], or [3] are removed from the copied text because the related source excerpts are not included.

If the AI response includes a code block, click Copy code in the code block to copy only that code.

If the AI response includes a rendered diagram, click Copy diagram to copy the diagram as an image so you can paste it into documents, slides, notes, or other apps.

5. Mark a good response

Click Good response when IntelliMate gives a helpful answer.

IntelliMate can use that feedback to preserve similar qualities in later answers when they are still relevant to your request.

6. Report or share feedback

Click Report or share feedback if you want to report inappropriate, incorrect, or problematic AI-generated content.

IntelliMate can use that feedback to avoid repeating the same mistakes, style, format, or level of detail in the next answer. The related prompt and AI response are included with the report so IntelliMate can review the issue.
