Chat history and continuity

This guide explains how to start new chats, continue existing conversations, rename chats, and delete chats in IntelliMate.

1. Open Chat History

Chat History is the right panel in IntelliMate. If it is collapsed, expand it first so you can see your previous conversations.

This panel helps you continue earlier work instead of starting over each time.

2. Start a new chat

In Chat History, click New Chat to begin a new conversation.

You can start chatting right away, or select one or more files from Knowledge Base if you want IntelliMate to use them as source context for the current chat.

If you want help with selecting files, see Manage Knowledge Base.

3. Continue an existing chat

To continue a previous conversation, click an existing chat in Chat History.

Then type your next question in the chat box labeled Ask your question here... and send it as usual.

4. Rename a chat

To rename a chat, click the menu icon on the right side of the chat name. This is the three-dots icon like .

IntelliMate opens a dropdown menu. Choose Rename.

Enter the new name, then press Enter to save it, or click outside the edit field to save the change.

5. Delete a chat

To delete a chat, open the same dropdown menu from the menu icon beside the chat name, then choose Delete.

IntelliMate will show a Confirm Delete dialog.

Choose Delete to confirm, or Cancel if you want to keep the chat.

6. Keep your work continuous

Chat History helps you keep context across sessions, especially when you return to the same documents or ongoing work.

For the best continuity, keep chat names clear and select the right source files before continuing the conversation.
